Gamevironments

Gamevironments is an open access journal. Two issues are published annually, a regular issue and a special issue. Each issue consists of academic articles as well as other contributions, such as research reports, interviews, or game or book reviews. There are no fees or charges for processing or publication.

All articles are subjected to an external double-blind peer review process. Research reports, interviews, and game or book reviews are reviewed by the editorial team – or in the case of the special issues by the guest editors. For further information on the peer-review process go to our submission website.

Publication Ethics and Misconduct Statement

Ethical publication standards ensure the high quality of academic publications. All parties involved in the publication process of gamevironments - authors, reviewers and the editorial team – follow general publication ethics.

Gamevironments understands authors as substantial contributors to central parts of the work submitted contributing to (1) the conception, analysis or interpretation of data, and (2) the intellectual content of the written work, and (3) approving of the final version of the work. Other contributors that don’t meet these criteria are not authors but can be listed, with their permission, in the acknowledgements.

The journal gamevironments follows the publication ethics published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The editorial team will follow suspected cases of misconduct promptly. In such cases, the editorial team will evaluate the reported or discovered case and discuss it with the board members if necessary. In the event that any allegation of research misconduct or other issues occur the editorial team will follow COPE’s retraction guidelines and make retractions respectively publish corrections or clarifications when needed.

All potential conflicts of interests (financial as well as non-financial) have to be declared when submitting your paper to our journal.
